Going into season 3, ‘The Boys’ was one of Prime Video’s fastest-rising hits and Amazon had a goal: take the show out of genre conversations and make it a pop culture phenomenon. Since the show was a satire, we turned the online world of the show into a satire as well.

THE WORK: We developed a tone of voice for all accounts that made fans swear Billy Butcher himself was writing. We leaned into fan culture and delivered offbeat and left-field creative that got them hyped up before even seeing a frame of footage. Then we fueled the fire with a genre bending mix of immersive and show-driven content, holding a mirror up to pop culture and reflecting it back with a sneer and a middle finger.
We also launched and ran @VoughtIntl, an in-world account that continued the story of the show between episodes and seasons. All content for @VoughtIntl had to be approved and vetted by series creator Eric Kripke, since all posts were considered canon. That’s right; we built creative that then became part of the lore of the universe. How’s that for client trust?

THE RESULTS: 1.3+ billion organic impressions, 47+ million organic engagements and some sick hardware
